Kallirack®: the traditional storage of your barrels reinvented
To further optimize the capacity of cellars, the company has developed Kallirack®. This barrel storage rack, equipped with a winch system for barrel extraction at the end of the rows, is made of solid wood (Douglas fir). Each level operates independently, allowing for the removal of a complete batch of barrels while keeping the rest in storage.
We collaborated with an ergonomist to enhance workplace comfort and safety. An internal ladder integrated into the working platform is built into the rack to address vertigo issues. There is an intermediate platform and a system of walkways to access all rows, regardless of their level. Loading drawers are located at the ends of the rows to facilitate the placement of barrels in the racks, thereby reducing physical effort.
A dedicated 3D software
We have created software that allows customized layouts to optimize aging cellars and help clients better visualize their projects. This tool determines the maximum barrel capacity of a cellar as well as the arrangement of rows to ensure optimal utilization. It also enables a comparison of our two systems to identify which one is more ergonomic and offers the best capacity based on the cellar’s dimensions.
The software calculates the specifications for the number of barrels, including technical details (length, width, and height of the rows), provides a visual representation of the rows, and offers a 3D view of the entire cellar layout.
